About Whetwise Press

A place to sharpen your mind.

Whetwise Press is an independent publishing house: a collective of authors making honest, useful books — a gateway to personal growth for readers of every age.

Our mission

We publish clear, practical books that hand readers real knowledge and usable skills, written to be honest and easy to use for people who want to get sharper at any age.

The name

To whet is to sharpen. Our mark is a bold W honed like a blade on a whetstone, with a bright spark struck off its edge. That spark is the whole idea: the small, satisfying moment when something clicks and you're a little sharper than you were.

What we publish

Practical skills and real knowledge, across ages — from books for curious kids to guides for lifelong learners. We don't publish fiction, romance, coloring books, or highly specialized professional texts. If a book helps someone genuinely learn or do something, it's a fit.

Our authors

Whetwise is built to hold many voices. Each author writes under their own name within the Whetwise family, with their own audience and character. Our first is Finley Sutton, whose Murphy's Law Training Academy sharpens kids aged 8–12.

What you can trust

Every title is made to be honest, practical, and age-right. For younger readers that means skills built through play, with grown-ups welcome to join in. We'd rather teach one thing well than pad a book to look impressive.
