Accessibility Statement
Effective date: July 9, 2026
Whetwise Press is committed to making www.whetwisepress.com (the "Site") accessible to as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. Accessibility fits our mission — honest knowledge and practical skills for readers of every age — and we treat it as an ongoing effort, not a one-time task.
Our standard
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of abilities.
What we do
To support accessibility, we work to:
- Use clear, readable text and a high-contrast color palette.
- Provide descriptive alternative text for meaningful images, including book covers.
- Structure pages with proper headings and semantic markup.
- Support keyboard navigation and visible focus.
- Keep forms clearly labeled.
- Write in plain, straightforward language.
Known limitations
Despite our efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible. Third-party components (such as embedded signup forms) may not be entirely within our control, and we work with providers to improve them. We continue to test and improve the Site over time.
Tell us about a barrier
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on the Site, or need information in a different format, please let us know — we want to fix it and help.
- Email: contactus@whetwisepress.com
- Mail: 7B Pleasant Boulevard Unit 1208, Toronto, Ontario M4T 1K2, Canada
Please describe the issue and the page involved, and we'll respond as soon as we reasonably can.
Ongoing improvement
We review accessibility as we add pages, imprints, and books, and we update this statement as our practices evolve.
