Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 9, 2026
Whetwise Press ("Whetwise Press," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through www.whetwisepress.com (the "Site"), why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. By using the Site or subscribing to our emails, you agree to this Policy.
We publish books for readers of all ages. Sign-ups and purchases here are handled by grown-ups — parents, teachers, and other adult readers — and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children (see "Children's privacy" below).
Who we are
Whetwise Press is a registered trade name of ANATAlogix Inc., which operates the Site. You can reach us at:
- Email: contactus@whetwisepress.com
- Mail: 7B Pleasant Boulevard Unit 1208, Toronto, Ontario M4T 1K2, Canada
What we collect
We only collect what we need:
- Information you give us. When you sign up to receive a free bonus or updates, or when you contact us, we collect your email address and, if you choose to provide it, your name and any message content.
- Information collected automatically. We use Google Analytics, which uses cookies and similar technologies to collect standard usage information — such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the Site — so we can understand and improve how the Site is used. See "Cookies" below and our separate Cookie Notice for details and choices.
- We do not collect payment information on this Site. Purchases happen on Amazon or other retailers, under their own privacy policies.
Why we use it
- To deliver the free bonuses you request, and to send you an occasional heads-up about new books or bonuses that become available.
- To respond to your messages and permission/rights inquiries.
- To understand, through analytics, how the Site is used so we can improve it.
- To comply with legal obligations (including anti-spam law recordkeeping).
We do not sell your personal information, and we won't spam you — we email only occasionally, and only people who have opted in.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies, including Google Analytics cookies, to measure Site traffic and improve the Site. Some cookies are essential for the Site to function; analytics cookies are non-essential. Analytics is on by default, and our cookie banner lets you opt out at any time — you can also change your choice later via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. For the full list and how to control cookies, see our Cookie Notice. You can also disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work as intended. To opt out of Google Analytics specifically, you can use Google's browser add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Email consent and your choices
We email only people who have opted in. When you sign up, we use double opt-in: you'll receive a confirmation email, and you're added to our list only after you click to confirm. This is also how we record your consent.
Every email we send includes our identity, a physical mailing address, and a one-click unsubscribe link. You can unsubscribe at any time, and we honor requests promptly (and in any case within 10 business days, as required by Canada's anti-spam law).
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers who help us operate the Site and communicate with you, and only as needed:
- sender.net — our email service provider, which stores subscriber information and sends our emails.
- Google Analytics — for Site usage analytics.
- Our website host.
These providers are bound to protect your information and use it only to provide services to us. We may also disclose information if required by law. We do not otherwise share or sell your information.
How long we keep it
We keep subscriber information for as long as you remain subscribed and for a reasonable period afterward for recordkeeping (including proof of consent). Contact messages are kept as long as needed to address your inquiry. Analytics data is retained per our analytics provider's settings. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under Canada's PIPEDA and U.S. state privacy laws such as California's), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email us at contactus@whetwisepress.com. We'll respond within the time required by applicable law.
Children's privacy
Our books are written for readers of all ages, and some are made for young readers — but the website itself is used by the grown-ups who buy books and sign up for updates. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us their information, email contactus@whetwisepress.com and we'll delete it.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard your data.
Links to other sites
The Site links to third-party sites (such as Amazon). We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please review their policies.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We'll post the revised version here with a new effective date, and, for material changes, we may notify subscribers by email.
